Decided to start the #balancebasics month long challenge today w/ @beachyogagirl, @laurasykora and @kinoyoga (sponsored by @athleta)
My goals are 1. Gain better balance 😜 2. Incorporate the more advanced poses into my daily practice (some are too advanced for straight-up photo ops, protect your body!) 3. Practice my Sanskrit 4. Set & complete a “simple” goal such as this challenge, without falling too far behind

Maybe @amydoubleyouuu, @kyndramichelle, or @octohawk to join me πŸ˜‰

Don’t forget! In two weeks I’ll be teaching my first yoga class 😜 It might not be pretty but I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather share the experience with than all of my wonderful friends. ✨ 6-7:15pm at the St. Louis Park YCM…. right off Hwy 100 and Mtka Blvd, where it meets with Highway 7 // $5 ✨ and a little #hollowback #pincha practice #tgif #ryt200

i was looking for the picture i just took at my new desk and stumbled across this one instead, from probably 3 years ago. Ugh, my heart is still very, very heavy over this loss and I’m fighting back the tears (jk, i quietly shed a few) Goddamn baby girl, we miss you fiercely.
In other news, I’m sitting at my new desk, and by new desk i mean sitting in the living room of J’s house which is now my house too! :) I’m pretty fucking pumped on this new phase of (our)life. I’m in the process of moving out of my old place which is draining as expected but I’m beyond excited to have all my belongings in one place, especially my kitchen gadgets! This change should save both of us money which is a nice bonus.
The rest of my life is going along smoothly as well. I’m generally enjoying my shifts at the new restaurant. One of my best girls Kyndra is starting at Lulu as we ramp up for holiday and I couldn’t be more excited for her to join our team! I think it’s the perfect fit for everyone and I’m so glad I could help facilitate what might be a really wonderful change for someone I really care about.
I’m nearly done with teacher training which is both intimidating and exciting at the same time. My class chose to do our Karma project at Hazelden which is the treatment facility my Uncle Terry went to (as did robin williams earlier this summer, aw) It looks like I’ll be teaching 4 or 5 out of the 6 classes, 2 of which are to a Men’s group which is crazy since I have zero experience teaching to dudes… their bodies are so different and their attitudes generally are too. But we’ll see, I’m up for the challenge! This is my future! I’m SO excited. I’m already planning big things for the future including Stand up paddle board teacher training next year(hopefully) and a trip to India in 5 years maybe? Wouldn’t that be just fucking wonderful. My dad has a coworker he mentored for a decade that plans to move back to India and would be an absolute facilitator so I might wait for that shit to align.
So as I’m continuing to live my truth, it’s continually falling into place for me. There is something truly real about following your heart and being a hard working, good-natured person. I am working every day to better myself and the world around me. And it’s tiring and great all at the same time. Forever learning. Forever growing. Forever flowing through the channels of space and timmmmmme. lol.

Rungs in a Ladder: Jacob Bannon of Converge Documentary (official) Full Film from McFarland & Pecci on Vimeo.

Directed by Ian McFarland, β€œRungs in a Ladder” is the latest short form documentary by production team McFarland and Pecci. A meditation on life, art, and purpose, the film centers on Jacob Bannon, an accomplished visual artist and the front man of the metal/hardcore band Converge, which has been carving its own iconoclastic path through the extreme music landscape for over twenty years. As a result, the band is considered one of the most intense and influential metal/hardcore bands of all time with a massive following of devoted fans.

The documentary follows Jacob’s reflections on the steps that have brought him to his present point, ultimately culminating in a sobering and uplifting statement of purpose and inspiration. The film’s narration style is seamless, allowing the viewer a broader understanding of Jacob Bannon as a person. Director Ian McFarland states, β€œwe want the viewer to feel like they are right there having a very personal conversation with Jacob”.

In the film Bannon reflects on formative events in his life and his continuing commitment to creation rather than destruction. A commitment that, he explains, is fueled as much by anger as a desire to create a legacy that inspires.

Directed by Ian McFarland, β€œRungs in the Ladder” is the latest in an ongoing series of documentaries by McFarland and Pecci profiling people who set out to carve a meaningful existence for themselves on the fringes of society. Celebrated filmmakers, the McFarland and Pecci team strives to make incisive, thought-provoking content, and β€œRungs in the Ladder” continues in this commitment to explore the act of creation.

The doc can be found on McFarlandandpecci.com on January 25th.
The brand, McFarland and Pecci is owned by Ian McFarland and Michael
Pecci, respected filmmakers in Boston. Together they co-direct commercials, music videos, corporate videos and short-form documentaries.
